Live presenter image and presentation screens at a Smash Productions event

One screen. Or the whole video system.

From a single display to a coordinated stage, the work starts with the room, the audience and the content. We connect screen design with video engineering so the visual idea holds together through rehearsal and the live show.

01

LED video walls

Wide presentation canvases, stage backdrops and coordinated screen layouts. Plan the dimensions, viewing distance, content resolution and installation as one connected system.

02

Projection & screen design

Projection for presentations, scenic surfaces and environments. Surface, throw distance, ambient light and sightlines inform the design; mapping requirements are assessed against the actual space.

03

Cameras & live feeds

Live camera images, switching and feeds for the room, recording or remote audience. Plan the shots, destinations and audio connections around the program.

04

Playback & presentation management

Speaker decks, video playback and screen content organized around the run of show. We address formats, aspect ratios, cueing and rehearsal before the program goes live.

05

Video engineering & operation

Signal flow, processing, source routing and operator responsibilities planned together. Identify critical paths and agree the appropriate backup approach for the event.

From screen design to show cues.

Creative decisions and technical decisions belong in the same conversation. The production approach is developed around how the screens will actually be used.

  1. Define the picture

Review the venue, audience, program and content needs.

  2. Design the system

Connect screen layouts, sources, processing and destinations.

  3. Prepare & rehearse

Check content, camera framing, playback and show cues.

  4. Run the show

Coordinate the video operation with audio, lighting and the production lead.

Event video questions.

Can Smash provide one LED wall or handle the entire video production?

The scope can range from one screen system to a coordinated video production with LED, projection, cameras, switching and playback. The proposal defines equipment, crew, preparation and operation.

Is live-event video production the same as filmmaking?

Live-event video production focuses on screens, live camera feeds, switching, playback and distribution during an event. Filming a standalone commercial or brand film involves a different creative and post-production scope.

Can you work alongside our agency or production company?

Yes. Smash can provide specialist video support within a broader production team. Equipment interfaces, crew responsibilities, content delivery and communication are agreed during planning.

Can you combine presentations, video playback and live cameras?

Yes. The system is designed around the required sources and screen destinations. Content formats, switching requirements and cue timing are reviewed before rehearsal.

Can you support a venue’s existing video equipment?

We first review the equipment, available connections, control access and venue requirements. That assessment determines what can be integrated and what additional equipment or crew is needed.

What do you need to prepare a video production proposal?

Start with the event date, venue or city, audience size and a description of the program. Floor plans, screen ideas, camera requirements and existing technical specifications help refine the scope.

Do you provide event video production outside Washington DC?

Smash serves Washington DC, Maryland and New York City and supports events nationwide. Travel, freight, venue access and local production requirements are addressed in the project scope.
