Screen configuration & sightlines
Plan the screen dimensions and placement around the stage, room layout, viewing distance and presentation needs. A wide scenic canvas and a text-heavy conference screen call for different decisions.
Smashing Video / LED
Smash Productions designs, installs and operates LED video walls for conferences, galas and corporate events in Washington DC, Maryland, New York City and nationwide.

A strong LED design accounts for more than the wall itself. Audience sightlines, screen content, cameras, the stage environment and installation conditions all shape the right approach.

Select a suitable pixel pitch and define the content canvas. We coordinate aspect ratios, readable layouts and source resolution so presentations and motion content are prepared for the screen.
Connect the LED canvas to the required presentation sources, videos and live camera images. Processing, routing and switching are scoped around what needs to appear on screen and when.

Plan loading access, installation time, power, support requirements and venue coordination. The proposal sets out the agreed equipment, crew, rehearsal, operation and dismantling scope.
Start with the event requirements. The technical specification follows the room, the program and the content.
Confirm the venue, layout, access and audience sightlines.
Develop the configuration, pixel pitch and content canvas.
Coordinate processing, playback, cameras and cueing.
Build, check and run the agreed system through the event.

Useful answers
The right size depends on the room, audience sightlines and content. Presentation-heavy programs need readable text from the back of the room; scenic screens and live camera images create different requirements.
Pixel pitch is the distance between adjacent LED pixels. A smaller pitch generally supports closer viewing, but the choice also depends on content, cameras and budget. The specification should follow the actual viewing conditions.
Neither is automatically the better choice. Ambient light, image dimensions, viewing distance, installation conditions and budget influence the decision. Smash evaluates those requirements before recommending an approach.
Yes. Presentations, videos and live camera feeds can be incorporated into an appropriately designed system. The content layout and switching approach determine whether sources appear full-screen or within a larger canvas.
Cost depends on screen dimensions, pixel pitch, installation method, venue access, labor, processing, playback and operating requirements. An accurate proposal requires the event details and intended use rather than a screen-size estimate alone.
Smash scopes LED walls as an event production service, with equipment, installation and operating support defined in the proposal. Tell us whether you need a screen system or a broader video production so the responsibilities are clear.
Yes. Smash can provide specialist LED and video support within an existing production team. We agree equipment interfaces, crew responsibilities, content requirements and communication before the event.
Smash supports events in Washington DC, Maryland and New York City, with nationwide production available. Venue access, freight, labor and local requirements are reviewed as part of the scope.
Send the event date, venue or city, event type and audience size if known. A room plan, stage dimensions, screen reference or content example is helpful, but you do not need a completed technical specification to start.
